textile

Textile is small and delicate. It can move and take all shapes and forms, appears vivid, and I think is even quite intelligent. It has multi-purposes and can make spaces come alive. In short, it is brilliant. Why on earth didn’t I become a textile designer? Here are some samples.
The curtains were made in collaboration with Lovisa Rottier and Janet André, and were created for the studio out of a desire for a more interesting framing of the large windows. The curtains were designed for a specific situation in which we could incorporate the existing window in the design (including the lower area of the heating elements, under the window), as well as use the height of 4,5 metres as a starting point for a horizontal partition. Different fabrics and techniques were combined: smocking, laser cutting with different transparencies being the result.
